I'm running because I'd lived in Boston and Cambridge from September 2003 to September 2013. I loved that city, the fiercely passionate people, the deep roots in history and loyalty to tradition - including the Marathon. Last year's tragedy tore a piece of my heart out - besides damaging an age-old tradition that ordinarily rallied the city together, the bombers injured hundreds, terrified millions, and took the life of my friend and old co-worker Krystle Campbell. I run for her memory, I run for the people of Boston, I run for peace.
