I'm running because of the inspiration I have been witness to from Boston police officer Dic Donohue, his brave wife Kim, Boston emergency room surgeon Marc Yelle and the Virginia Military Institute community who rallied in support of the Donohues. Boston police officer Dic Donohue traded gunfire with the terrorists in the streets of Boston days after the bombing. He was hit in the leg, bled out and miraculously lived. Marc Yelle tirelessly and heroically treated many of the victims of the explosion in the ensuing hours and days. Both are classmates of mine from VMI. I graciously ask for your support as I carry the baton through the Great State of Texas. "Come And Take It"
