I'm running because I started distance running in high school. For years, my goal was to run Boston, but injuries got in the way. In 2013, I was a Hydration Station volunteer; it was so much fun to hand out water to the runners, cheer them on, and be a part of that day.
When I got home, my sister called me and told me that bombs were going off the finish line. My boyfriend and I watched the news and saw people whom we had talked to, given water to, and cheered for running away from the explosions. I'm running for those who can no longer run, those who lost their loved ones in the attacks, and to keep the spirit of the Boston Marathon alive.
