I'm running because When I started to read about the injured and those that lost their lives that day, I felt an overwhelming sense of selfishness. I have brought my husband and son to several road races to cheer me on, to take pictures and enjoy the event. The truth? I think it is difficult to be the supporter all the time. Standing for hours, wading through crowds, enduring the heat, the rain, the snow just for the small chance I might run by them and receive that wave or thumbs-up. Sure, they are my biggest supporters. It feels incredible to have a husband and son that are proud of me, proud that I am a runner. Yet, all I could think about was Martin William Richard.
