I'm running because On April 15, 2013, the innocence of Patriots Day/Marathon Monday was forever taken away from us. Marathon Monday is the greatest day in the city of Boston. I am from Boston and was at the Boston Marathon 25 mile marker at the time of the explosions. My family was at the Finish Line the day before the Boston Marathon for the BAA 5K. Last year, I ran the BAA 5K, BAA 10K and BAA Half Marathon which is comprises the Boston Athletic Association Distance Medley. I also ran the last mile of the Boston Marathon in honor of those who were injured or unable to finish for the One Run Boston 5-23-13. I also walked the Boston Marathon during the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk 26.2 the last two years.
April 15, 2013 has forever changed the way Patriots Day/Marathon Monday will be viewed. The running of the Boston Marathon is my favorite day in the city of Boston. Many innocent spectators were injured cheering on their loved ones, family and friends. The running community rallied around Boston after the Marathon bombings. As a transplanted Bostonian, it will be an honor and a privilege to run to benefit the One Fund Boston!
