KRISTIN SPADAFINO | stage 335 | MA
I'm running because I'm running on behalf of all of those who can't.
I'm running to say 'thank you' to all of the first responders and everyday people who risked their lives.
I'm running to say f%&$ you to those people that thought they could rattle our city but instead made us stronger and as proud as EVER to be from Boston!
My story: I have always watched the Boston Marathon since I was little. If you've been to the marathon, you know the energy and excitement the event brings. I had the opportunity to watch it from the finish line. Having two small children, I packed a backpack filled with sandwiches, drinks, snacks and goodies. We were there for about 20 minutes before Gwen, my youngest, started to get antsy. She was quite persistent about leaving. To my dismay, we left the finish line and went out to lunch (which looking back on it....was kind of crazy because I had more food than I knew what to do with!)......
10 minutes later....chaos ensued when the bombs detonated at the finish line across the street from where we were standing!
I am ETERNALLY grateful to my little guardian angel.
